I feel like I need a sign that I can march around with that says, "Gardening is fun!" Spread the news! It really is!

This morning I attempted to build a frame for one of my largest squash plants (I think it's a pumpkin), which has begun to sprout those reaching tendrils. While I worked on the frame, I was thinking how Snark would giggle at my process because it is very makeshift (twist-ties, cotton string, twine, bamboo, and hollow century stalks); I know he could create a sturdier, nicer looking frame in a shorter amount of time. No worries! He'll hopefully grace our garden with his talents when he comes back. I'm sure by then the other squash plants will be grabbing and sprawling too.

The most exciting moment that happened this morning was when I saw a bulge under the burlap scraps I've been using for mulch. There are ten to twenty new plants popping up! I think some of them are cucumbers, which is fabulous because our other cucumbers got stunted by staying in their pots too long while we made the move to Andy's. They aren't growing much more now that they've been transplanted to their final garden box homes. I also planted some new seeds: turnips, beets, catnip, echinacea, black eyed susans, cilantro, and more.

Diamond was being a real rascal while I worked: pouncing on Juno and causing a chase/fight, trying to bat the peaches off of a low hanging tree branch, knocking over my bamboo as I tried to fit it into place.
