we have left houston. thank you brielle, marcos, and snaggle tooth for giving us a place to stay, for playing games with us, and taking us on a tour of galveston. we didn't end up seeing the underground downtown houston, but we did find the old courthouse, a beautiful decrepit building.

we got to see austin for about a day and a half. the first night we rode our bikes around 6th st, visited the capitol, ate two for one veggie burgers, and checked out the downtown neighborhood. (for those who may be wondering...since my friend e just asked in an email, i have not been eating raw since traveling around. it's pretty difficult without the regular kitchen setup and tools, so i'm back to just vegetarian while we are so transient.) the next day, we visited the wheatsville food co-op and found lots of yummy food to eat and buy. (they have a great bulk section including liquid soaps for anyone planning on being in austin.) that night we stayed with super snark's friends, sara and luis; we played cards, laughed, ate good food, talked a lot, and stayed up til 4:30am. thanks to them for offering us a bed and good company.
