Seth, my boss donated $500 to charity:water on valentine's day. He also donated to Trees for the Future on v-day; however, the water donation is a new development to Old Bisbee Roasters. I am constantly amazed by how compassionate Seth is as a business owner, as an employer, as a community member, as a person; he repeatedly acts in ways that demonstrate his care for others. We heard about how Seth cried when he first watched the video clips on the charity:water page. He was very excited to show my coworkers and me the charity:water stories and photos when we came into work. And when he saw that a customer contributed $100 toward his fundraising efforts for clean water projects in developing nations, he was astounded. We brainstormed ways we could get other customers interested as well. Seth finally hit upon an idea that he could put into action: With each 2 lb. coffee order of $28 (actually any sized coffee order will do) customers can easily round up their order to an even $30 (or more, if they like) and Old Bisbee Roasters will match each donation. It's a very small offering--this donation of $2--yet, it quickly adds up. In less than a week, there were 38 coffee-donation-round-ups, and Old Bisbee Roasters was able to add another $152 to Seth's fundraising efforts.

The new layout looks great, and I love what you have to say about pausing and appreciating what's around us. Seth sounds so fabulous. I'm going to post about this on my blog, too! In part because you guys do good work and the coffee is sooooooo delicious!
Thanks, Courtney!
I think it's really cool that Seth donates so much time and money to organizations that he believes in. He also gives KIVA loans to people in developing countries who are trying to start small businesses. I love to read the profiles and see the pictures for the people he's directly helped.
