Every Friday Seth takes everyone I work with out to lunch. Normally we head to the Bisbee Breakfast Club, but they've changed ownership and we're thinking about switching to a different place. Today we sat outside in the sunshine at High Desert Market and enjoyed our food and then just enjoyed each other's company. At past jobs, we occasionally went out to lunch for birthdays or some special day. I always dreaded it because it felt false to me; it felt mandatory. There was definitely something missing in the scenario that was hard for me to explain. Anyway, the point just being, that it's not missing when we go out to lunch with the people I work with now. Even more than the luscious salad that I got to eat for lunch, it's the lovely time we have sharing that lunch--and the fact that we get to label it "work"!
