Veggie Dog has been sick since this weekend. She mostly sleeps during the day. Late at night, she searches for grass to calm her rumbling belly, and generally pukes and has accidents, sometimes inside. Poor puppy. Poor us. It's kind of like having a baby, in the sense that we haven't slept well in many nights. She's still barking at hooligans and passerby, though, and I take it as a sign that she's not too, too sick. (But not being able to hold food down for multiple days does present some worry.)
Snark's been struggling with a cold as well, sore throat and congestion, maybe prompted by his lack of peaceful sleep.
I'm doing okay!
Thanks to my friend, Jen, who suggested I try nose plugs when I swim, I had a lovely swimming experience on Monday in Sierra Vista. Snark and I swam laps for just under an hour, and I used my new swimming nose plug for the first time. It worked wonders because I didn't have to hold my nose, keep my head above water, or wear the leaky face mask, and I felt like a real swimmer (albeit a clumsy swimmer) going back and forth in the lane!
Sunday we rockhounded in Helvetia, which is about two hours away. We spent most of the day surrounded by green hills and a beautiful sky with enough floaty white clouds to keep us from not getting too hot on the hike in. When I got tired of hunting out pretty rocks, I listened to Harry Potter on audio book until the sun began to set and Snark was ready to go. (I finished the last Harry Potter book yesterday, and now my mind is buzzing with the excitement of the wizarding world. I'm a dork. I'm ready to start over with book 1 now just to have more H.P. to read.)
Today's my early day at work, and I've got to go rinse some dye out of a few tie dye items to get them ready for the washer, so I think that's all I have to report for now.
