This is the scorpion I almost stepped on last night as I was coming out of the bathroom with bare feet. This is the first scorpion we've seen inside our house since moving there almost a year and a half ago. It was running across the living room floor in my path, but also Veggie Dog was running right into the scorpion's path toward me. Luckily, Vdog is a smart dog when it comes to survival and saving her ass. I yelled for her to stop, sit, and then go into the bedroom, and she did! Dog's can be pretty amazing like that. Now I guess I wouldn't witness many kitties listening to such directions, but they do have their other qualities.

Now that ugly bug season is coming upon us and I've actually got to experience one of them almost hurting me in a very painful way (of course, I would have hurt it too if I stepped on it--and actually Snark did step on it later to kill it, so that ended up be pretty sucky for the scorpion), I'm thinking I might be willing to take snow over scorpions. hmmmmm.
