i've decided to write, then, even though it feels difficult. i think once i get going, i'll probably think of things to say.
such as, snark left for WI yesterday. monday night we went to sleep around midnight. we had planned to go to bed at 9pm, but it just didn't happen like that. no surprise. we set my alarm clock for 2:45am, but something woke me up at 2:30am and when i looked at the clock we decided to just get up. snark's phone alarm never went off, which he thought was strange and checked it out after he got out of the shower. that's when he realized we had actually gotten up at 1:30am! when we set my clock, somehow we changed the time, moving the hour forward in the process. damn it. :-) we left the house at 3:30am, real time. snark's flight was at 6am. i got back a little after 7am, fed veggie dog and walked her up on the hill. puppy and i were back in bed by 8am and slept for the next two hours, until snark called to say he made it to chicago where he had a two hour lay over before finishing in madison.
vdog seems to be doing okay with her true-love-papa gone. of course, it's only the first day and she probably doesn't quite realize he's gone yet. she napped, hunted for food, went on her walks, gave me love, played tug and told me about her day...all the expected actions in a given day.
it sounds like snark is having fun in madison already...not even there for a full 24 hours and he's gone swimming in the lake, traipsed around downtown, met up with multiple friends, ate at big mike's (his famous, yearned-about sub shop), drank some beers and gabbed, and spent the night with T and V (perhaps playing scrabble, T and V's favorite game? if not last night, maybe in the foreseeable future).
this morning, v dog and i woke early for us--6am. again, i thought it was an hour later. apparently i didn't reset my clock correctly (or it just magically fucks up in the middle of the night and gets a good laugh at my expense, tricking me in the morning). but it feels good to be up this early, and i'm glad for it. vdog is finishing her food search in the yard and i'm at the bottom of my mug of coffee.
in a couple of hours, i'm heading over to ren house to begin listing their library collection onto a computer file, so it's easier for them to keep track of what they have. (snark did fix the power jack on my computer after a few set backs, and now my computer works again to the best of it's ability, which is a slightly pathetic ability, but usable, nonetheless, and i'm quite grateful for it--and grateful to have Word again).
i may take a restorative yoga class this afternoon...
and now, we're headed out for our morning walk.
