super sick

super snark is feeling not so super this evening. (in fact, he's in the bathroom puking as i type this.) wishing i could help him feel better (but knowing there's not much i can do in that category), i'm writing him into this post right now, so the powers of the world will know that i think he should get better soon.

i, on the other hand, am feeling awesome. this evening i went on the stair walk with some of the employees (and former employees) and a few of the residents (and former residents) of renaissance house. it is my first time doing it, and i'm thrilled to do it again soon. we climbed over a thousand stairs. i even ran some!

i've been wanting to write about my volunteer experiences with the women of renaissance house, but i'm just not sure how to write about it yet. it's gone from: "i'm not sure i'm liking this" and "the women don't really seem to want me here" to "i helped one woman with understanding algebra. she was finally starting to get it! this week was great!" to "this is boring. i'm spending my two hours here making Word tutorial packets because the computers are all messed up" to "the women are actually being friendly to me" and then "i'm overwhelmed and intimidated. inadequate! am i really working here all day on sunday with absolutely no guidance or training?! and i'm in charge? are you kidding?!" to "i'm starting to be friends with some of them!" and "it's cool to get to know them better." blah blah blah. that's the gist of it without explaining any of the details.

ok, world. snark is hurling again... it'd be really great if he could start feeling better soon.
