compost, voila!

super snark on the roof across from us

pile of branches we cleaned from on and
beneath the cottonwood tree in the canal

(this is a side note: i'm apparently addicted to coffee again. i think i better head back the route of black tea if i'm going to have a caffeinated drink addiction.) i'm sitting at the computer watching super snark out the front kitchen window.

he's almost done cleaning off the fallen leaves and branches from the rooftop of the building across from our house. it's owned by a man in another state that doesn't upkeep it. snark's been cutting down dead tree branches in the canal all morning. the city is supposed to do it, but it's been left since the last monsoons the previous summer. i helped snark haul the branches out of the canal and onto the drive by our house. it's still unknown what we'll do with them. post photos of the thick wood on craigslist maybe so people can pick it up for firewood. a bonus to snark's hard work today is that beneath all the leaves there is rich composted soil. we'll be able to use that in the garden.

his precarious roof cleaning and tree branch cutting/climbing adventure has made me a bit nervous. i'm just stating this for the record in case anything bad happens. it's been windy; i watch him brace, turn away from the wind, and i see leaves flutter madly off the roof for 20 second intervals. it's beautiful.
