southern AZ camping

we are currently in fort collins, only for a few days. we unpacked the car in Bisbee and drove up in one day to pick up some essentials (clothes, tools, kitchen items, books) and some other, lesser essentials (yarn, rocks, baskets, games) for making a home in Bisbee. if all goes as planned, we should begin our trip back down to AZ through NM, 5am Wednesday morning. and we'll be moved in by the weekend!

V dog has been pretty sick for the last week, though she finally seems to be returning to her former happy self. this afternoon she was barking at her tennis balls and rolling around in the dead grass as snark packed up the car. a sign of her recovering health, we hope.

below are some photos of our camping/hiking moments in AZ over the last couple of weeks. we drove south of Tucson through Patagonia (a very tiny, artsy town that surprisingly--because we haven't found this in many places throughout our travels--recycles paper, cardboard, glass, aluminium, plastic...yay!), and camped in the Coronado National Forest. The next day we drove east through Tombstone (very cheesy) and camped in the forest near Miller Peak/Sierra Vista. on a hike in this area, i found a clear crystal about the size of my fist embedded in an old mining road that super snark helped my dig up. cool! after this, we drove through Bisbee, fell in love with the old town, made calls about renting the house we found, and then camped for three or four nights in national forest just north of Douglas.
